It is necessary for educators to understand the social networking sites because the students love these sites. I have used Facebook for quite some time. I like it to keep up with friends and family who live elsewhere. I like that with Facebook I can get text messages from certain pages I like. I do not have to log into Facebook each time to know what is going on with an organization or person. I do not believe I would use Facebook for my classroom. I have an account, but I hardly use it. I tend to read more than I write on my Facebook account. I think Facebook is more fun and enjoyment than teaching.
